Joel Colvin
Joel is the STARS admissions specialist. He concentrates on training new clients in the admissions area of the system and supports various help desk requests. In his free time, Joel enjoys acting, singing, spending time with friends and family, and reading. He especially likes comedy plays and Stephen King novels. Joel is active with Open Stage Harrisburg and with his church’s worship team and youth group. He’s happy to be a part of the STARS team and enjoys working with our STARS clients.

CASE STUDY: IMPROVING YOUR SHOW RATE
Wiggins Career Institute school director, Tom Wilson, is very proud of the way the school’s admissions and student finance teams work together. They present the school to potential students providing accurate information during interviews and appointments. Almost 85% of the students who attend interviews and tour the campus enroll. Tom and his team struggle with getting more of those students who enroll to actually start classes. They aren’t happy with a 42% show rate.
Tom contacted Joel, the STARS admissions specialist, and set up the autoresponder tool with a series of announcements and other informational pieces that will keep these students motivated and eager to get started with their career training. Tom even has his instructors sending welcome messages, and it takes very little time! The show rate at Wiggins Career Institute is improving!
